How It All Began

It all began with the visit to the majestic Taj Mahal in 1995. A royal Rajasthani man headed to one of the most beautiful wonders of the world and see the chronicle of the reign of Mughals. To his utter surprise and disappointment, the monument stood it's ground but nobody had the acumen to give him a tour and satisfy his curiosity. Upon visiting other important historical monuments across the country, he encountered similar experiences. While it seemed like a lot of hard work, it also opened up an opportunity for young Dalip to take the plunge. He put in a lot of time and effort to become a subject matter expert on Indian history and archaeology through formal education. He also managed to get trained as a tour guide under the aegis Archaeological Survey of India. From then on there was no stopping for Dalip with the visible impact he could make in the lives of other young stars being trained under him and the smiles of satisfaction he could bring to his numerous clients' faces.

His love for travel, discovering the country's heritage through authentic local experiences, and walking the road less travelled culminated in the start of Walking Through History (WTH). He created tours which existed outside the realm of standard travel itineraries. And rest, as they say, was history.

Starting off with one tour in Delhi, we have now grown to 6 tours covering different locations in this country - Delhi, Agra, Jodhpur, Hampi and Hyderabad. You can experience the country's capital with us, walking through the bylanes of Chandni Chowk, marvelling at the magnificence of Mughal architecture, or sampling authentic Hyderabadi Biryani in the narrow streets leading to Charminar in Hyderabad. On the other hand, far away from the maddening crowd, you can discover Jodhpur - where India goes to experience royalty, and grandeur. A completely different cuisine. Diametrically opposite history. And local culture that is poles apart.

More than 10,000 travellers over the past decade have discovered India with us. They loved it. And so will you.
